Jeffrey Shinault Day died Feb. 16, 2011, and is buried at National Cemetery in Fayetteville. He was born in Texas on October 3, 1958, the son of Stephen Martin Day and Sara Grace Shinault Day.

He married Carol J. Kendall of Butler County, Ohio, in 1986.
