Obituary for Pat Miller Simpson

Patrice “Pat” Annette (Miller) Simpson died August 3, 2006, at Fort Smith. She was born February 10, 1958, at Fayetteville, the daughter of Florence (Miller) Arnold and Elinor Leroy Arnold Jr.

She was employed by the Summit Group as the executive housekeeper for the Comfort Inn of Fort Smith, where she was honored in December 2005 for having eight years of continual service, never missing a day of work.

While growing up in Fayetteville, she attended the St. James Methodist Church. She attended thousands of Little League and basketball games, watching her sons participate in their various sports activities. She was always happy to serve as dugout or team mom for her four sons at Jefferies Boys and Girls Club.

Survivors included her husband, Kim Eugene Simpson, a veteran of the Persian Gulf War; sons Travis Jordon and wife Chris, Tajon and Tavian, and foster son, Kuen McClain; grandchildren Alexis and Nathan Dempsey; brothers and sisters, Curtis Dabney, Beverly Keller, Kirk Deffenbaugh, Gary Smith and wife Lisa, Carol Ball and husband Rico, Barry Miller, twin sister Pam Miller, Sherron Arnold, Elinor Leroy Arnold III, Eddie Arnold and wife Gloria, Randall Arnold, Vanessa Garcia, Kim Sanders and husband Ray, Tonia Citizen and husband Willie, Caressa Banks, Arthur Banks, Eric Arnold West and wife Gayisha, Jimmy Flurry; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation and funeral were held at the Fort Smith First Church of God in Christ. She was buried at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary.
